House Bill 2063a
“Education Investment Tax Credits”
Gives tax credits to individuals who donate to organizations that give private-school scholarships to low-income students or students with disabilities. The bill was introduced on May 21, 2013 by Rep. Liz Pike, R-Camas, and has yet to leave committee.

Summary:

Since the state has a strict Blaine Amendment, voucher programs are unlikely in Washington. Tax credit scholarships, however, are a possibility.

Rep. Liz Pike, who gained notoriety in Washington for bashing teachers on her Facebook page, introduced such legislation in May. It will carry over into the 2014 legislative session. Governor Jay Inslee is opposed to school vouchers.
