There is no private school choice in North Dakota.

North Dakota considered one piece of private school choice legislation this session: House Bill 1466 from the 2013 session would have required a school district to channel public funds to any private institution a child in that district chooses to attend. The bill failed in the House.

If there were school choice legislation to head to Governor Jack Dalrymple’s desk, it’s possible that he would veto it, since he has expressed satisfaction with public school performance in the past.
